Service Description
The Cyanotype Creative Lab invites participants of all ages to explore one of the oldest photographic printing processes through the guidance of Puerto Rican artist Herminio Rodríguez. Using sunlight, found objects, plants, textiles, and personal items, students will create vivid blue prints that combine science, storytelling, and artistic experimentation. This workshop is designed to be accessible, playful, and deeply creative. Participants learn how to: Prepare cyanotype paper and materials Use natural and found objects to build visual compositions Harness sunlight to develop prints Experiment with textures, layering, and shadow play Explore the connection between memory, object, and image Herminio brings a warm, community-centered approach to teaching, encouraging participants to incorporate personal memories, island narratives, and environmental elements into their prints. Perfect for youth, adults, families, artists, beginners, and anyone curious about alternative photography or Caribbean creative traditions. 👉 All materials are provided.
